The Maternity Hospital, also known as “The Home of Birth,” is a significant architectural and social landmark in Tirana. Built in 1940, the hospital was designed by Italian architect Tito Chiomi, embodying the Rationalist architectural style of the era and tailored to meet the needs of a modern university maternity hospital.

  Located on the side, the main entrance enhances the building’s approachable and intimate character. Above the entrance, a striking white relief by sculptor Giuseppe Gronchi adorns the façade. Divided into three sections, the relief depicts themes of fertility and infant care, symbolizing the hospital’s purpose.
